Members - this is a great way for you to contribute to the Club website. If you have a thought for an article that you think would be an interesting addition to the club's website, send it to us along with any images you would like to include in the article. You don't have to be a great writer - we will function as your "editor" and make certain that your article is spell checked, factual and easy to read. You do not have to be a web guru at all - we can take your information in many forms (such as a Word document or email) and get it online with no trouble at all. While we would like for you to provide any pictures your article would need (and in the case of a "how-to" or product review it's pretty much essential that you provide some images), we can always use stock photos to dress up your article if you don't have any pictures to share. If your article is approved we will publish the results on the front page of the website for a period of time. Once the front page publishing time has ended your article will be available here for all to view.

To submit an article simply send your information to webmaster@sfaaa.org or use our online submission form!

Sometimes we get articles that are time-sensitive and need to be posted for a short period of time. Sometimes we get articles that don't fit the usual categories we put articles into. You'll find both kinds of articles here.

  • Basic Astronomy Info   ( 5 Articles )

How does one behave on the observing field? What's the best way to observe a meteor shower? What is an occultation, and why is it important to observe? This section contains articles written to answer many questions people have about astronomy.

  • How-To's   ( 5 Articles )

Have you ever put off learning or doing something that you know you should do because you were afraid to try it? Just curious about other guy's projects? How-to articles can show you how it's done - and they're written by guys who were exactly in the same boat you're in before they figured it out.

Public Event Reports - here's where you'll find information and pictures from our many public outreach events.  We hold events at County Parks, Scout camps, Schools and Public Libraries as well as our every Saturday Public Observing Nights at Fox Observatory.

  • Observing Reports   ( 26 Articles )

Observing Reports are articles about trips to dark sky sites, star parties, public events, astronomical events that we have witnessed or imaged - if we were outside and saw something that we think you might find interesting it'll be posted here. This is also where you'll see the very latest images from our pool of hard-working astrophotographers.

  • Product Reviews   ( 5 Articles )

When it comes to Astronomy related equipment and software, everyone has their favorite (or dream) setup. Another thing that amateur astronomers are certain to have is an opinion. Here you can read articles about equipment and software that our astronomers have used and tested. Even if you're not looking to find out anything in particular, product reviews are often a fun read.
